Nerdy Weather Lady Slips 20 Batman and Superman Puns into Broadcast

published by 5 News on YouTube March 25th, 2016
found on Digg.comhttp://digg.com/video/weather-woman-batman-superman

People around the world were very excited about "Batman v Superman,' but it's hard to beat the passion of this English television Channel 5’s weather woman, Sian Welby, who slipped 20 Batman and Superman puns into a single minute-long broadcast.

Here’s my poor transcription:

“Hi, I’m Sian Welby. Well, you needed x-ray vision to see through the fog in some parts this morning. Even touch of frost in the Small-ville-ages, so it’s Harley Quinn-sidence that temperatures will be the Lois in the North and the West. But Lex have look at how things progress this afternoon. Now sun will struggle to Dent the clouds the north Adam West, and rain will Affleck Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. Across England and Wales, well, we’ll see almost Olsen shine here, with highs of 13 or 14 degrees in Kent. Now, if you’re going on a [car-pic?] tonight, just be aware that things have gotten bat to worse. Low pressure systems moving from the Atlantic means that as the Dark Night Rises, all wind, Wayne and clouds will be the Bane of the West, and low pressure will suddenly Steel the city conditions from us on Saturday afternoon. If you did Wonder about Easter Sunday, well, there’s no justice and we’ll have Two Face more unsettled conditions. Expect the clouds to be Gray-son in short supply, and once again we’ve got lots of scattered showers. Some of which will be heavy and thundery. Super.

What If "Man of Steel" Was in Color?

What would Man of Steel look like with more natural color? That’s what the gang over at VideoLab wanted to see. So, they took clips from the film, played with the color balances and saturation and came up with some pretty interesting results.

Posted by VideoLab on YouTube April 21st, 2015

There is currently not a lot of information about the Folk(s) of VideoLab. Maybe this is a one-off experiment by a film student? Maybe there’s more coming?

The point, in any case of course, is how different a film can be by how it looks.

Super Flamands - How Would Superheroes Have Looked in the 16th Century?

Posted by Dovas on BoredPanda
November 17, 2014

French photographer Sacha Goldberger has created a quirky photo series that perfectly expresses the timeless quality of some of our favorite superheroes and villains – by re-imagining them as 16th-century Flemish portrait models.

What if Superman was born in the sixteenth century?
What if the Hulk was a Duke?
How might Van Eyck have portrayed Snow White?

Goldberger — known best perhaps for his superhero photos of his grandmother — set out to answer these questions about two years ago. 24 months later, with the help of about 110 people, he managed it.

One of the most striking things about the “Super Flamands” photo series, other than the brilliant idea itself, is the fact that it isn’t Photoshopped (though we aren’t sure about Yoda). Those super-hero costumes, which manage to stay faithful both to the hero and to the historical period, are real, and so are the heroic look-alike models wearing them. Judging by the credits for the project and by Goldberger’s photos of the exhibit, this was a massive undertaking!

Classic 1966 “Batman” Halloween Costumes Are Coming Out This Year

– originally posted in ComicsAlliance.com, April 11, 2013.

After years of being unable to capitalize on the classic Batman TV show, it looks like Warner Bros. and DC are wasting absolutely no time on making up for that. Since merchandising rights were sorted out, they've announced a new line of action figures, a digital comic series, and now, we're getting full-on Batman '66 costumes for Halloween.

Batman includes a jumpsuit to which those boots are attached, and a utility belt whose functionality remains unknown.

Robin includes the tights.

Batgirl does not include the red wig or purple boots.

The Riddler, in addition to his jumpsuit and purple corset, actually does include his signature question mark cane.
